The Mission of Impact Houston is:
- To foster and promote activism in the Houston area, on local and national issues, with the goal of achieving full equality for all persons. These issues include, but are not limited to, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.
- To work in partnership with new and existing organizations to build coalitions and to work toward mutual goals of full equality for all.
- To provide opportunities for more people to get involved in this movement. This includes reaching out to those who are new to activism.

| Impact Houston took to the streets on Saturday, January 10, 2009, to raise awareness of the lack of marriage rights of same-sex couples in Texas, and to protest the Defense of Marriage Act. This proved to be a very successful event! More info about this and future events here. |
